Artist Statement English

Trough art I relate to contemporary life and values. I work conceptually with free varied expressions. I do photography, video and sculpture and sometimes performance and relational aesthetics.
I place myself in a fringe where I operate in everyday life. I turn to things that doesn't draw much attention, insignificant, long forgotten details and second-hand items. Like a ruin tourist I explore abandoned houses, worn down places and old items. It may also be an empty space in an agenda, fine lines in plastics or in a mirror. By pointing out details and dislocations I aim to bring them value. I can sense the beauty of everyday life but what makes me return is because at my best I manage to capture something you might describe as an existential experience upon a closer look.

I often deal with existential matters and question norms that surrounds us for example stress and over consumption. I´m inexorably part of the western lifestyle and therefore try to minimize the impact of stress, materialism and consumption. It´s in the back of my mind and art. I´m inspired by eastern religions but also by Christian ethics.
